1. Raw Materials and Manufacturing Process:
- Raw Material: EPS boards are primarily made from polystyrene (PS) resin, a thermoplastic polymer derived from petroleum refining.
- Manufacturing Process: High-quality polystyrene beads are steam-heated and injected into molds. Under high pressure, these foamed beads solidify, forming a rigid board with an internal structure composed of numerous tiny closed cells.
2. Physical Properties:
- Lightweight: EPS boards have low densities, typically ranging from 15 kg/m³ to 50 kg/m³, making them significantly lightweight and advantageous in reducing building loads.
